  1. Hi Cynthia

Do you have time to do a short Q&A about CAPTURED INNOCENCE. My blog readers love to know more about books and their authors.

What three words would you use to describe your book?

What was the inspiration for your book?

What was the most surprising thing you learned while writing it?

What is your favorite part of your book?

What do you want readers to take away from your book?

    1. Three words, hmmm. Heart-wrenching, suspenseful, realistic

The inspiration came from a desire to write clean books, yet books that deal with today’s very real issues.

Surprising thing? That good can come from even most the most evil seeming deeds.

My favorite part is when the hero comforts the heroine. He is so tender and compassionate

I want readers to take away that there is light in darkness.

      Thank you so much!

  2. Hi Cynthia,
Will your books 3 & 4 in the Summer Meadows series be coming out in paperback?
I really enjoyed books 1 & 2 but do not own a kindle.

    1. My agent and I are considering this, yes. Thank you. If you follow me on FB, I can keep you up on all the current news.

  3. I don’t leave spam on any websites, however I grew up on it. Your facebook comment about spam was very funny!!!

  4. I cannot find a new copy of the second Summer Meadows Mystery book in paperback anywhere! I am almost done with the first one and three and four are easy to find. I am hooked at this point and want to continue reading the series in order. I don’t own a reader. please advise.

  5. Hey Cynthia! I’m currently reading your short story in ‘A Pioneer Christmas’ which was recommended to me by Lauraine Snelling. I’m absolutely loving your short story and was wondering if you had a suggestion about which books of yours are written in a similar style and which you would suggest I start with once I have time to read again. You seem to do an awesome job of making the story flow despite it being a short story. I’ve read others but they often seem cramped and disjointed. Thank you for sharing this story.

Does anyone else on here have a suggestion for one of your favourite books of Cynthia’s?

    1. Any of my historicals would probably meet your expectations. Charity’s Gold Rush, A Love for Delicious, Ruth’s Redemption, Cooking Up Love, Taming the Sheriff. They are all longer books but written in the same style. Thank you so much for commenting. Please leave a review on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, if you can. Reviews are invaluable to authors.

  6. Hi

I have only read one of your books and I really enjoyed it. I just got an email from Spyglass and saw that one of the questions you answered was what type of book you were writing. I was shocked and offended that a Christian would use a term like “half breed” to describe a person. Because of this, I believe I cannot continue to support you by purchasing your books.

I hope you can understand and I hope you will change your description of people (at least in a public forum) in the future.

    1. I’m sorry you feel this way, and I totally understand. I have two adopted sons who are black, so are one of the least racist people you would ever meet. The reason I used the word “half-breed” is because of the time period. This is a historical, and this is the term used at that time. The book deals with racism and I felt needed to be historically accurate in the ways the character would be treated. But…maybe you are correct and the blurb should have been “different” in that type of forum. My apologies.

  7. I’m interested in book “Charity’s Gold Rush.” No library even has in our system or beyond. Help! Have read several of your books & really like! Thanks!

  8. Hi, I just read your book Handcarved Christmas and am wondering when Sam’s story will come out, I hope it is another Christmas edition but even if not I am eager to read it. You are planning on doing that character justice by giving him his own story, right? I hope so, I really like that one and would like to read more about these characters. I look forward to the sequel and subsequent books in that series, please send me an email when it’s out. Your fan, Stacey Silverman

  9. Hi Ms. Hickey,

I work with Natasha Fallon at Countryside Elementary. I am the maintenance person. I am just starting out being a writer. I do not look at being a full time writer. I am working on self publishing my first book. It is only a baby/toddler book. I have a few questions, or do you have any advise for me? When do I start a website, or should I start a website? Is this a business? Should I get into a writers group? I do not want to bother you to much.

    Thank you for your time.

    Tracy Agnelli
