The Daring Dachshund Mysteries

Welcome to The Daring Dachshund Mysteries, a delightful cozy mystery series by Cynthia Hickey. Crystal Waters manages Riverside Towers, where life is usually filled with noisy neighbors and maintenance problems. Everything changes when her miniature long-haired dachshund, Minnie, discovers a body in the neighborhood dog park. The victim was planning to destroy the park, giving plenty of people a reason to want him dead. As Crystal searches for answers, she finds herself surrounded by secrets, suspects, and danger. Thankfully, Minnie has a talent for finding trouble and uncovering clues. Together, Crystal and her faithful dachshund must solve the mystery before the killer strikes again.

Off the Leash

Crystal Waters manages Riverside Towers, a busy apartment complex where the biggest problems are usually noisy neighbors and broken appliances. Her quiet life changes when her miniature long-haired dachshund, Minnie, discovers the body of Richard Thornton in the neighborhood dog park.

Richard was a wealthy developer with a controversial plan. He intended to bulldoze the beloved dog park and replace it with luxury condos. As a result, he made plenty of enemies.

The suspect list is long. A restaurant owner faces financial ruin. A grieving pet owner wants revenge. An environmental activist has a troubled past. Richard’s ex-wife could inherit millions.

Crystal soon learns that someone wants the truth to stay hidden. She receives threatening notes. Her apartment is ransacked. A potential witness is brutally attacked. The killer is willing to do anything to protect a deadly secret.

Fortunately, Minnie has a nose for trouble and a talent for finding clues. As Crystal investigates, she realizes the murderer is much closer than she ever imagined. With danger closing in, Crystal and her faithful dachshund must uncover the truth before she becomes the next victim.

Perfect for fans of small-town mysteries, loyal canine companions, and amateur sleuths who refuse to let sleeping dogs lie. EBOOK PRINT

A Killer in the Kennel Club

Crystal Waters thought joining the Riverside Kennel Club would mean ribbons, dog treats, and a little friendly competition. Instead, she finds a body in the ladies’ room.

With her boyfriend, Detective Lance Hendricks, back to full-time duty in Riverside, Crystal suddenly has extra time on her hands. Her three dachshunds—Minnie, Daisy, and Bella—are eager to make new friends. At the suggestion of her friend, Linda Hooper, Crystal joins the prestigious local kennel club. Before long, her dogs are stealing hearts and sneaking extra snacks.

But behind the polished pedigrees and smiling faces, trouble is brewing. During a meeting break, Crystal overhears a heated argument between two club members. She assumes it’s nothing more than a disagreement.

Then one of the women turns up dead.

Suddenly, the club’s biggest competition isn’t for Best in Show. It’s finding out who had the strongest reason to kill. Lance warns Crystal to stay out of the investigation. The club members guard their secrets like prized trophies. Still, Crystal can’t resist following the clues. Missing money, whispered accusations, and shaky alibis point to something much darker.

Crystal may not have a championship bloodline, but she does have a nose for trouble. And her dachshunds are always ready to help sniff out a killer.

After all, she may not have a championship bloodline—but she does have a nose for trouble.

And this time, the competition could be deadly. EBOOK PRINT

A Bond to Pick With Murder

When a tenant stops paying rent, property manager Crystal Waters does what any responsible landlord would do. She knocks on the door.

She never expects to find Victor Hale dead in his armchair. She certainly doesn’t expect her three miniature dachshunds to uncover clues the police missed.

Victor was a quiet man. He paid cash and kept to himself. The medical examiner rules his death a heart attack. Detective Briggs closes his notebook. Case closed.

But Crystal’s dogs disagree.

Bella doesn’t drag things out from under beds for no reason. Daisy doesn’t bark at trash cans without a cause. And Minnie doesn’t sit in the middle of a dead man’s apartment with her ears flat unless something is terribly wrong.

Then Crystal discovers a prescription bottle with the label scratched off.

It’s only the first clue.

As she investigates, Crystal uncovers Victor’s hidden past. A nervous old friend. A daughter who arrives too quickly. A former business partner carrying a twelve-year-old secret. Piece by piece, she learns that the quiet man in apartment fourteen had spent years gathering evidence against a very powerful person.

Someone made sure he never had the chance to use it.

With Lance handling the official investigation and her three determined dachshunds sniffing out clues no one else noticed, Crystal soon learns that the quietest tenants often hide the biggest secrets.

Victor Hale spent twelve years waiting for the truth to come out.

Crystal Waters has a master key and three dachshunds.

That may be close enough. EBOOK PRINT
